Responsibilities
- Ensure appropriate configuration of Alation software to meet business requirements
- Partner with vendor team to maintain system performance/functionality and ensure software updates and upgrades are completed
- Collaborate with data community (e.g., data trustees, data stewards and data custodians) to collect and document critical information about data assets
- Utilize data governance software to maintain a data system inventory, data catalog, business glossary and data lineage
- Utilize data privacy software to discover, create and maintain data maps/data flow diagrams
- Maintain currency and accuracy of data records, inclusive of annual refresh/attestation activities
- Ensure internal controls are in place to comply with data governance policies and standards
- Ensure that controls are in place to deliver data that is fit for purpose
- Requirements:What we're looking for 2+ Years working with Data Governance software (Alation mandatory). Resumes must have Governance and Alation experience.
- Experience working in a program office, with basic project planning and management skills. Someone extremely organized.
- Understanding of databases, data structures and the data lifecycle
- Crowd sourcing and organization
- Ability to translate data governance policies into operational processes
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments and tasks
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within expected timeframes
- Facilitation skills with the ability to drive consensus and/or closure on data issues
- Ability to think and act proactively (anticipate next steps and future requirements)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills including: Word, Excel, Power Point and SharePoint
- Travel industry knowledge is a plus
- Travel background is nice to have but not necessary
- Experience speaks volumes versus a high level education degree
- A person in risk and compliance would be a great candidate.
- The successful candidate will be developing a catalogue. This person will be collecting data and definitions throughout different divisions.
- 100% remote - Open to anyone in US time zone.
