Tool Maker

(PERM or Temp-To-Perm)

Location: Moonachie, NJ

Pay: 20 - 28/hr

Hours: 7-3:30pm or 8 - 4:30pm

Position Summary:

Primary responsibilities for Machinist/Tool Maker will include completing the projects for designing and constructing tooling, assembly fixtures and jigs necessary for QC, Production or the Machine Shop and Production Floor.

Responsibilities:

• Designs, fabricates and constructs tooling, assembly fixtures and jigs, soft vise jaws, shop aids.
• Cooperates with Engineering, Production and Machine Shop personnel for completion of the projects.
• Assists in construction of fixtures, jigs, tools and shop aids etc.,
• Interprets and follows drawings, specified requirements, procedures, instructions and other applicable documentation.
• Sets-up, operates various bench mounted equipment, including milling machines, lather & surface grinders, shears, saws, punch press, radial drill, band saws, all types of hand tools, electric powered hand tools, air powered hand tools.
• Uses various measuring and inspection tools and equipment for inspection, compliance, and accuracy verification.
• Completes assignments in an accurate, thorough and detailed manner.
• Performs maintenance to machines and equipment in Machine shop, as required.
• Meets or exceeds productivity, quality and safety standards.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience in machining and tool making processes (required)
• Proficiency reading complex engineering drawings (required)
• Expertise in GD&T.
• Competency in measuring tools commonly used in the machining industry (i.e. Calipers, Micrometers, etc.).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with peers and supervisors.
• Ability to ensure safety of personnel and equipment.
