Plant Engineer 
The Plant Engineer is responsible for leading the development and strategic direction for the facility technical team with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. They will motivate others and affect change, manage multiple projects, and display proven ability to successful project facilitation.

Job Functions

• Lead the development of strategic direction for the facility Engineering and Maintenance team

• Manage Capital and Expense spending; ensure successful project start-ups using PM tools including development of equipment standards & specifications; Factory Acceptance Testing protocol and Commissioning protocol; coach engineering resources and project startup leaders

• Lead efforts to develop and implement safety, quality, continuous improvement, and customer service programs throughout the functional areas you coach as well as act as a resource and ownership driver to the rest of the facility.

• Lead the asset management program for the facility to include maximum utilization, replacement, upgrading, maintenance, and tracking.

• Lead the strategic direction for all utilities, infrastructure, and support areas within the facility

• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge; support advanced troubleshooting with the maintenance team, support breakdown analysis and ensuring elimination of failure points

• Knowledge of Melting Tanks, Extruders, Cooling Conveyors, Enrobers, Horizontal Over Wrappers, Tray Machines, Case Packers, Vertical form fill seal equipment, scales, Propac Packaging Systems, tempering units

• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by auditing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, conveyor systems, production, and utility machines by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. 

• Support TPM roll out in the organization, specifically in the PM Pillar.

• Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, issues, and ongoing opportunities.

• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

• Ability to schedule daily work among team members and oversee / train team members

Job Qualifications

• Technical, post high school training/schooling

• Proficient in reading and understanding mechanical drawings and schematics

• Ability to read electrical prints

• 7+ years of related experience, preferably in a food/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

• PLC experience with ability to read ladder diagrams, VFD experience highly preferred

• Packaging background is a plus
