JOB SUMMARY
Leaders at Osumundson Manufacturing Co. are responsible to build trust with their teams, be effective communicators, and to hold themselves and their teams accountable. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall performance and operating results of the Maintenance Department. This position ensures responsive and proactive maintenance support to all partners by implementing sound work management processes. The Maintenance Manager is accountable for the department budget, professional and technical development of staff, and achieving maintenance and production metrics. These methods are all with the goal of keeping our team safe, making a quality product when the customer wants it and at the right price.
MAIN FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assumes a shared role as a safety champion that inspires team members to embrace and be accountable for personal safety. Ensure a safe and orderly working environment that meets or exceeds all site and regulatory requirements.
- Defines and executes department goals advancing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies. To include the development and implementation of strategies, processes, and programs for preventative maintenance, autonomous maintenance, predictive maintenance, and Focused Improvement campaigns to reduce unplanned downtime and increase operating efficiency.
- Ensures effective root cause analysis (RCA) through defined thresholds for action, action tracking, and review at the Gemba.
- Manages stockroom operation that provides repair parts for critical process equipment, as well as necessary consumables for the plant.
- Oversees and supports the professional development of the maintenance team members; motivates, coaches and develops a diverse, high performing and engaged team to meet established goals and build organizational capability.
- Ensures the effective use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Responsible for maintaining a budget.
- Ensures effective work order tracking to include employee comments/concerns (Fugui cards).
- Performs other duties as requested by management.
- Follows all Osmundson policies and procedures and ensures team compliance to all company and regulatory policies.
QUALIFICATIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- 5-years manufacturing experience, preferably in high volume steel stamping, Tool & Die, or other high complexity/volume manufacturing required.
- Previous department or team leadership experience in manufacturing required, demonstrating a minimum of 5-years of increasing levels of supervisory roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical area preferred (Engineering or related field of study).
- 2-years of experience with TPM and lean transformation with proven results and in a manufacturing environment is preferred (5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, visual management, and leading Focused Improvement events).
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and manage productivity projects required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule across multiple shifts and be on-call when urgency warrants is required.
- Ability to constantly lift, bend, stretch, and stand during entire shift is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of infrastructure systems (nitrogen, electrical, steam, compressed air).
- Experience operating and deploying a Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) highly preferred.
