Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in framing, siding, sheathing, and roofing. As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for leading and managing a crew on various construction projects, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and supervise a crew of carpenters and laborers on residential and commercial construction projects.

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and plan work accordingly.

- Perform and oversee tasks related to framing, siding, sheathing, and roofing.

- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.

- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.

- Train and mentor crew members, promoting a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and make any necessary adjustments.

- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.

- Communicate effectively with clients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.

 

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a carpenter with a strong background in framing, siding, sheathing, and roofing.

- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role within the construction industry.

- Excellent knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Commitment to safety and quality.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

 

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditions.
