We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bakery Production Manager with at least 3 years of commercial baking experience and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of bakery operations, excellent leadership skills, and a strong commitment to quality and efficiency. As a Bakery Production Manager, you will oversee the production process, manage the bakery team, and ensure that all products meet our high standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight: Manage the daily production schedule to ensure timely and efficient production of all baked goods. Monitor the production process, adjusting schedules and workflows as needed to meet demand.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality for all products. Implement and oversee quality control procedures, ensuring that all baked goods meet our specifications and customer expectations.
  • Team Management: Supervise and lead the bakery production team, providing training, guidance, and support. Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor ingredient and supply inventories, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained. Place orders and coordinate with suppliers as needed, managing costs and reducing waste.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized production area, enforcing hygiene standards and safe working practices.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the production process. Implement new procedures and technologies to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with the bakery team to develop new products and improve existing recipes. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new ideas into the production process.
  • Budget Management: Assist in budget planning and cost management. Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to handle special orders, address concerns, and gather feedback on products.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production metrics, inventory levels, and other key performance indicators. Present findings to senior management and suggest actionable insights.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of commercial baking experience and at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a bakery or similar food production environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of baking techniques, production processes, and bakery equipment. Proficiency with inventory management and production scheduling.
  • Quality Focus: Strong commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality and consistency.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, suppliers, and customers.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary or baking certification preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Culinary Education: Formal training or certification in baking or pastry arts.
  • Advanced Experience: Experience in a high-volume commercial bakery setting.
  • Technology Skills: Proficiency with bakery management software and other relevant technologies.
