CAD Drafter

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare preliminary and final maps, plans, exhibits, and digital data files using the appropriate CADD program.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Prepare street, sewer, water, storm drain, grading, and other engineering maps and exhibits as directed.
- Make updates to drawings and CADD files, as directed by the Project Engineers, to keep them current. Responsible for daily backup of CADD drawings.
- Work with standard CADD specifications, formats, and base files that are required by various private firms and government agencies. Enlarge or reduce drawings to fit a specific scale.
- Prepare drawings to Agency and/or Hunsaker & Associates LA standards.
- Maintain the groups CADD files and data base according to Hunsaker & Associates CADD Standards.
- Experienced in the operation of AutoCAD and / or Micro-station CAD programs as well as LDT and / or Inroads design programs.
- OTHER RELATED DUTIES AS DEEMED NECESSARY
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: An Associates Degree in CADD Technology from an accredited Community College or two years experience as a CADD operator for a survey/civil engineering firm or other engineering discipline. Survey experience or classes preferred.
Skills/Job Knowledge: Should be familiar with basic surveying and mapping terms, types, procedures and uses. Needs to demonstrate competency on a PC computer and skills required to operate a CADD system. Must also have a working knowledge of high school level mathematics (including trigonometry).
Must be able to follow written and verbal directions as well as work under close supervision.
Computer Skills:
Level of Supervision: Detailed supervision. Requires step by step explanation of surveying and mapping procedure. Progress review at the completion of each step.
