The Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and versatile Project Engineer to join our team based in National Harbor, Maryland. The role will provide key planning and operational leadership on projects in or around the Washington DC area.

The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry and possess skills and abilities suitable for field and office construction planning and management on large infrastructure projects with a special focus on transportation projects (roads, bridges, rail, airports, etc.).


Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing technical engineering and supervisory leadership to make certain that construction work, whether self-performed by PrimECS or in a consulting capacity, complies with contractual requirements and industry standards. More specifically, the Project Engineer shall:

  • Understand and enforce PrimECS and clients’s safety, quality programs, and code of conduct.
  • Manage project lifecycle phases, from proposals to post-construction, optimizing opportunities and meeting all requirements.
  • Lead project teams to meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.
  • Design and execute infrastructure projects using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and DeepEX.
  • Cultivate and maintain exemplary client relationships to ensure superior customer service.
  • Perform comprehensive engineering analyses and oversee field operations for quality assurance.
  • Mentor staff to promote professional development and maintain project excellence.
  • Review, resolve, and ensure compliance with all technical specifications and contract documents.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Desired Profile & Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, one should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • At least 5 years in roles related to engineering, construction, estimating, or field support.
  • Well-versed in construction equipment, techniques, building materials, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Competent in performing technical calculations manually or using specialized software.
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, along with familiarity with other relevant industry tools.
  • Strong construction planning, scheduling, estimating, and job cost control capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface and assume responsibilities within collaborative and independent settings.
  • Proven abilities in organization, adaptability, teamwork, and multitasking.
  • Capacity to self-start and drive field productivity, actively engaging with team members, vendors, and clients.
  • Ability to see, walk, talk, operate a computer and lift to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to operate vehicles as needed.
