Summary

The purpose of this position is to oversee the company’s accounting records and General Ledger, ensuring accuracy through investigation, analysis, reconciliation, and recording of financial data. This is currently a single person function with clerical assistance. This is an onsite position.

Accounting Manager - Essential Functions

• Perform or oversee invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections operations.
• Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to financial records ledgers within an ERP system.
• Complete bank reconciliation tasks and conduct analysis of cash accounts.
• Prepare bank deposits, ensuring accurate transmission of cash, checks, or ACH.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow statements.
• Prepare fundamental journal entries and conduct reconciliation and analysis on work papers.
• Compile, validate, and finalize month-end closing procedures for the organization.
• Assist in monthly financial reporting activities and analysis.
• Manage reconciliation of interdepartmental accounts.
• Validate and process expense reports and commissions.
• Conduct financial calculations including amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal.
• Generate new asset entries, execute depreciation calculations, and compile requisite reports.
• Perform or oversee filing, maintenance and disposal of financial related documents.
• Calculate operational costs by assessing absorption costs within the production process and gathering operational data.
• Work closely with the Executive Team and Operational Mangers to pinpoint the underlying causes of issues and deliver impactful solutions.
• Work with the Executive Team to develop an annual budget and establish monthly forecast.
• Liaise with CPA firm to file state and federal taxes and/or incentives.

Accounting Manager - Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar field required.
• Certifications such as CPA, CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) preferred.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of accounting in a manufacturing setting required.

Specialized Knowledge

• Proficiency in ERP based accounting software (Epicor, SAP, Oracle).
• Understanding of the principles of cost allocation, cost control, and cost management.

• Trustworthy and capable of maintaining ethical conduct.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey financial information clearly to stakeholders.
• Acute analytical abilities are crucial for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions.
• Ability to interpret complex accounting standards, consolidate financial data, and ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure financial reporting is accurate and in compliance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and delays.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting or standing while working at a computer.

• Manufacturing facility – must comply with all safety regulations and PPE requirements
