Role Overview:
As a Global Network Operations NOC III (3rd Shift), you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to maintain products and services. This includes performing testing, coordination, and escalations to ensure network stability and efficiency. You will work independently, using your expertise to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and coordinate with various teams and vendors. Your role requires a high level of technical proficiency and the ability to manage complex assignments with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve network issues.
- Create and deploy Maintenance Requests for after-hours network augments.
- Collaborate directly with the Network Control Center (NCC) and Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to ensure overall network health.
- Track trouble resolutions, provide ticket updates, and communicate relevant information to customers.
- Run tests, check processes, and assist with repair coordination activities.
- Coordinate with and dispatch field technicians for maintenance and repairs.
- Gather information and perform network data analysis to improve operations.
- Provide technical consultation, coaching, and mentoring to technicians and staff.
- Work directly with vendors for special network deployments.
- Monitor the network continuously for issues, alerting the NCC as needed.
- Run scripts across the network to identify inconsistencies or necessary updates.
- Coordinate with telemetry when console access to devices is unavailable or compromised.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a service provider role.
- Proficiency with SONET/DWDM Network Configurations.
- Experience with Ciena 6500, Infinera, and Alcatel PSS-32/16.
- Ability to create and modify DWDM/SONET services (from DS3 to 100GIG).
- Working knowledge of IP Network concepts.
- Experience with vendor deployment of new gear.
- Technical Project Management experience is preferred.
- Optical vendor certifications (Ciena, Infinera, Nokia) are highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
- Flexible schedule to support after-hours maintenance requests.
