Mechanical Process Engineer


Process Engineer will be responsible providing the production team with the best processes, equipment, and tools to ensure products are manufactured safely and efficiently to meet our high-quality standards.

Process Engineer Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain manufacturing processes.
  • Be a champion for continuous process improvement within production with focus on cost reduction or output increase.
  • Create and maintain process work instructions and standard operating procedures for the area of responsibility.
  • Train shopfloor employees in the assembly areas to ensure highest quality of output.
  • Support and initiate projects to improve and automate assembly processes.
  • As necessary help in the design of tooling and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot, solve process and equipment issues then communicate with operators the outcome.
  • Conduct failure investigations to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure documentation and traceability in compliance with AS9100 standards.
  • Interface with the ASB group experts worldwide for powders and help develop new processes

 

Process Engineer Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial Engineering.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of dimensioning and tolerance analysis
  • Must be hands on in his/her approach to engineering while possess the ability to analyze processes in a detailed and structured approach.
  • Detail oriented with an analytical and structured approach to problem solving
  • Experience in welding and welding technology a huge plus.   
  • Experienced and knowledgeable with automated assembly equipment is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with strong desire for process improvement
  • Ability to travel domestically or international for 15% of the time.

Process Engineer Preferences

  • The ideal candidate has experience in designing industrial equipment for mechanical processes.
  • Experience with powder metal processing (powder feeding, pellet pressing/consolidation), inorganic chemistry, and small assembly line
  • Experience with high precision presses, tooling and dies
  • Automated inspection experience (vision systems, etc.)
  • Lean manufacturing basis
  • LEAN Six Sigma experience a plus.
