Overview:

As a Logistics Assistant at our Cherry Packing Facility, you will play a key role in coordinating the logistics of both export and domestic shipments. Your primary responsibilities will include scheduling shipments, entering data into internal software systems, and communicating with the shipping department to coordinate inbound and outbound trucks. Additionally, you will assist with various miscellaneous tasks related to logistics and transportation. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipment Scheduling:

  • Coordinate and schedule export and domestic shipments according to customer orders, production schedules, and shipping requirements.
  • Ensure that shipments are scheduled in a timely manner to meet delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Work closely with the shipping department to prioritize shipments and allocate resources effectively.

Data Entry:

  • Enter shipping and logistics data accurately into internal software systems, including order details, shipment information, and tracking numbers.
  • Maintain organized records of shipment schedules, documentation, and communications for reference and tracking purposes.
  • Verify the accuracy of data entered and resolve any discrepancies or errors as needed.



Communication and Coordination:

  • Communicate with the shipping department to coordinate inbound and outbound trucks, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of cargo.
  • Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers to arrange pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Provide timely updates and information to internal teams and external stakeholders regarding shipment status, delays, or other logistics-related issues.

Miscellaneous Tasks:

  • Assist with various miscellaneous tasks related to logistics and transportation, such as preparing shipping documents, arranging transportation permits, and coordinating customs clearance.
  • Support other departments as needed, including inventory management, warehouse operations, and customer service.
  • Perform general administrative duties, such as answering phones, responding to emails, and filing paperwork.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in data entry and computer skills, including experience with internal software systems and Google Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
