Responsibilities:

Administrative duties

  • Overseeing the patient care process in the office;
  • Leading the front desk;
  • Making/Supervising phone call/email answering;
  • Ensuring staff scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and checking insurance eligibility CORRECTLY;
  • Keeping office and files in an organized manner;
  • Implementing physician's directions with the staff;
  • Quality-controlling customer service.

Clinical duties:

  • Taking and entering vital signs and patient data as the physician directs;
  • Verifying insurance eligibilities;
  • Coordinating/communicating with hospitals/facilities/other healthcare providers regarding scheduling for office visits/procedures;
  • Obtaining/supervising insurance authorizations for office visits/procedures;
  • Any other clinical work as per the physician's direction.

Requirements:

  • Certificate/degree in Medical Assisting Program is required;
  • 2-year+ experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical environment;
  • Computer literacy - skilled with Microsoft Word & Excel, and online HIPAA-compliant cloud storage, scheduling system (EPIC preferred)
  • Excellent patient service/communication skills;
  • Must be able to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership;
  • Staying organized, on task, and being dependable;
  • Being a great team player with effective/efficient communication skills;
  • Professional appearance and behavior at work and staying respectful/collaborative with the team;
  • Demonstrate leadership and people skills;
  • EPIC (EMR that we use) experience is a great asset;
  • Second language than English, not required, but is a great asset.
