Job DescriptionJob Description

The role of the Quality Control Chemist II revolves around ensuring that various samples, including raw materials, finished products, and stability samples, are analyzed promptly and in accordance with cGMP documentation standards. This entails performing laboratory tasks to support the company's objectives.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Conducting identification testing using techniques such as TLC, FT-IR, and composition testing, adhering to USP monographs and guidelines.
  • Performing wet chemistry testing, which involves procedures like loss on drying, Karl Fisher titrations, pH measurements, and preparing solutions.
  • Assisting in daily laboratory activities such as cleaning glassware, disposing of solvent waste, and calibrating balances regularly.
  • Providing support to senior Quality Control Chemists as required.
  • Conducting strength testing using instruments like HPLC, GC, and/or ICP.
  • Contributing to process and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Fulfilling any other tasks delegated by the Quality Control Lab Supervisor/Management.
  • Being available to work holidays and weekends upon request from the Quality Control Lab Supervisor/Management.

Minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in a cGMP laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in operating, analyzing data from, and troubleshooting general laboratory equipment.
  • The ability to execute and interpret data based on internal specifications and USP requirements.
  • Strong multitasking skills and efficient sample management abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn and comply with cGMP, 21 CFR 111, SOPs, and Batch Records. Familiarity with 21 CFR 210 and 211 is advantageous.
  • Competence in using computer software such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in English, with the ability to comprehend both oral and written instructions.
