A prominent manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Technician to join their team. This is a direct hire position This position is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership to the assigned team members in assembly operations, encompassing both mechanical and electrical activities, according to planned timelines and priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and direct team members, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned build activities.
  2. Plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures, and identify opportunities for improvement in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
  3. Ensure operators are adequately trained and on schedule to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
  4. Meet production targets by assigning tasks to operators and collaborating with the Project Assembly Lead, utilizing a flexible approach and cross-trained team members.
  5. Ensure adherence to established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  6. Assist management in hiring, training, counseling/disciplining, performance appraisal, and task prioritization for subordinates.
  7. Foster effective employee relations, providing coaching and development opportunities and resolving employee issues through problem resolution.
  8. Achieve positive results in areas of quality, productivity, cost, safety, morale, and continuous improvement activities.
  9. Monitor performance measures and provide regular progress reports to the manager.
  10. Ensure teams and team members have the necessary resources and training to accomplish tasks.
  11. Conduct individual and team coaching sessions to improve performance and recognize team accomplishments.
  12. Conduct accident investigations and support tracking absenteeism and time-keeping.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the direct manager.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum Education Requirements: High school diploma with specialized training in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and equipment safety operation.
  2. Preferred Education: College diploma in manufacturing.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of previous related experience in an assembly manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry.
  4. Additional Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
