Primary Purpose
Austco’s designers use computer software to create project technical drawings and documentation based on the work of architects, engineers and customers. The role will include, but not limited to creating project shop drawings, as-builts and supporting documentation through Excel, Word and other software tools.

Key Responsibilities 

 

Collaboration: 

  • Technical team members 
  • Field installation staff
  • Sales members

Design:

  •  
  • User Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Rivet software for creating shop drawings
  • Project documentation
  • Project as builds
  • Use of Excel to develop installation requirements

Planning & Creation: 

  • Tasks included, but not limited to, creating system risers, floor plan layouts, adding details to architectural and electrical plans, project installation documentation, commissioning forms and as-builts


Required Qualifications and Experience

 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of design experience, 3+ years of design experience is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD and Rivet software, documentation creation and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel), Blue-beam
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills 
  • IT and technical understanding
  • Network and cabling design experience
  • Knowledge of engineering, architecture and math
  • Understanding of construction methods and manufacturing processes
