Controls Engineer
We are searching for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The selected candidate will be integral in ensuring the seamless operation of electrical and pneumatic systems, maintaining adherence to both company standards and regulatory codes. Responsibilities include the creation of schematics, software programming, and the execution of testing procedures to uphold system integrity. This role is crucial in the installation, debugging, and maintenance of machinery and systems, crucial for our operations and at client locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical and pneumatic schematics and Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
- Employ structured programming techniques to develop and document control system software.
- Conduct rigorous testing and debugging during the initial phase to guarantee system performance.
- Provide on-site support for system installation, testing, and debugging at client sites.
- Exhibit proficiency in controls design principles, including control safety categories, stop categories, failsafe designs, and safety PLC functionality.
- Ensure the integration and maintenance of safety devices like light curtains, gate switches, and emergency stop buttons, adhering to ANSI B11.19 and NFPA79 standards.
- Manage the updating of all project drawings post-completion, ensuring the accuracy of documentation.
- Aid in the creation of machine operation manuals, focusing on the controls and operational functionalities.
- Maintain effective communication with customers and project team members, ensuring all communications are well-documented.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to review customer specifications, recommending solutions that ensure compliance and optimize costs.
- Participate actively in design and review meetings, providing insights and innovative solutions.
- Offer timely support for any control system issues or concerns from customers.
- Be willing to travel for sales calls, meetings, and to provide on-site support.
- Support the Applications department with quotes, incorporating pricing, write-ups, concept drawings, and scheduling.
- Occasionally perform the duties of subordinates to promote a collaborative and supportive work environment.
