Job Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer will conduct day to day analysis to provide quality assurance support and refines production methods. They will analyze data to provide continuous improvements in the supplier's products, develop methods for testing, sampling and training to ensure required standards are being met, as well as conduct audits and create finding reports to determine corrective and preventative action. This position reports to the Quality Manager. Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the responsible suppliers who supply wide variety of commodities that include: fabric, leather, vinyl, foam, metals, plastics, etc. Guide and coach suppliers on problem solving processes, continuous improvement processes, etc. Escalate any issues, tasks and risk items as appropriate. Support the plant operations – respond to the assigned supplier responsible quality and at times design / engineering issues or concerns reported. Responsible for understanding the nature of the issue, investigate the root causes and develop the temporary and permanent countermeasures by using appropriate resources and tools. Responsible for the KPI’s including but not limited to: shift production loss (due to “supplier issues”) or interruption, supplier containment / rework activity improvement, supplier responsible scrap rate, departmental CI task assignment, supplier PPAP review and approval, Nissan E64 performance (supplier responsible portion), Nissan AVES performance (supplier responsible portion), and respective Corrective Action (or countermeasure) correspondence, etc. Any other tasks as assigned – general, quality control / assurance management specific (monitor / maintain day to day quality department related reports, verify / validate corrective action status, etc.). Must be willing to abide by the company handbook regarding following safety rules and job rotations. Participate in communications events such as plant wide meetings, line meetings, department meetings, and training exercises. Assist the plant in achieving safety goals and achieving and maintaining defined objectives. Will follow and promote environmental management system compliance and commitment to resource conservation. Qualifications Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years in manufacturing quality engineering related experience or Associate degree with eight (5) years in automotive quality engineering related experience.

APQP, PPAP, Control Plan and PFMEA knowledge and direct involvement experience.

Statistics knowledge (MSA, SPC, etc.).

Strong Communication skills.

Ability to lead or guide suppliers on general quality problem solving processes such as containment, root cause analysis, permanent countermeasure establishing, etc.

Ability to coordinate and work with responsible suppliers and 3rd party vendors who provide related services.

Ability to identify risky issues needing escalation and understands how to apply appropriate escalation processes such as involving the direct supervisor / manager, prepare evidence and record to display the situations, etc.

Must be proficient using MS Office to ensure efficiency: Outlook
