Carpenter Assistant

Go Local Promotions Inc., is an experiential marketing agency seeking an Assistant Carpenter to help fabricate retail displays and event activations, including trade show booths, and much more for different clients and events nationwide.

This will be a 20 to 40-hour-per-week (and sometimes overtime) job working from our carpentry shop in Doral, FL. The ideal Assistant Carpenter will have experience working with wood, carpentry tools, CNC machines, metalwork, acrylic, and different types of materials. Strong knowledge of visual installations and installing vinyl wraps are a big plus but not mandatory. Experience with 3D Design Software such as AutoCAD or SketchUp is also a big plus.

Responsibilities:

• Assist experienced carpenters in various tasks including measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials.
• Load and unload materials and tools, ensuring they are stored properly and accessible for ongoing projects.
• Help in maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Prepare job sites by setting up necessary tools and materials, and assist in site clean-up and organization.
• Support in the installation of frameworks, cabinetry, and other wooden structures by following instructions and guidelines.
• Assist in interpreting blueprints and building plans to accurately execute carpentry tasks.
• Adhere to safety regulations and practices on job sites, including wearing appropriate protective gear and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to address any issues that arise on the job.
• Show willingness to learn new techniques and skills related to carpentry, and apply them under the guidance of experienced carpenters.
• Occasionally assist in communicating with clients to address any concerns or questions related to the project.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in carpentry or a related field is a plus but not required.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or carpentry courses are a plus.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Must have up-to-date documentation to work in the US.
