JOB INFORMATION
Full Time, TEMP-TO-HIRE
Pay Rate: $19-$23/hr (Depending on experience and certification)
8:00AM-5:00PM (M-F)
LOCATION:  Arlington Heights

REPORTS TO: Service Line Director

JOB SUMMARY
As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support nurse practitioners and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interview patients and document basic medical history
  • Organize and schedule appointments
  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports
  • Arrange laboratory services
  • Check with patients and type up patients charts
  • Assist during medical examinations
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
  • Protect patients rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal, medical and financial information per HIPAA.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Current Medical Assistant Certification (Preferred)
1 year experience (Required)
EMR experience (Required)
Strong writing and verbal skills
Ability to work through interruptions, manage multiple priorities and handle stressful situations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to interpret and adhere to policies & procedures in accordance with company practices.
  • Analyze, interpret and communicate complex issues and recommendations.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Basic math and reading skills; attention to details.
  • Use of basic office equipment (e.g., photocopier, voice mail, ‘fax’ machine, calculator, multiple line telephones, computers etc.).
