Position: Residential Manager of Brooklyn CRS

Supervised by: Residential Coordinator/Director

Schedule- Monday - Friday 9a-5p

General Description of Position:

Coordinates the development, implementation, scheduling, operation, and evaluation of all residential programming in assigned program(s). Provides comprehensive planning, program oversight, and active support for the care and treatment of agency individuals served. Interviews, trains, and provides professional development to staff, interns, and volunteers for the positions for which it supervises.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the daily operations and management of one or more CRS’s.

  2. Ensure adequate staffing coverage 24 /7 for individuals residing in the homes.

  3. Manages staff scheduling of residential components according to established ratios.

  4. Plans and assigns work to employees to ensure completion of tasks and responsibilities related to provision of supports and services to Individuals served.

  5. Ensure compliance with all DDS and company policies and procedures.

  6. Ability to develop and implement operational procedures as needed.

  7. Complete state and agency documentation accurately and on time.

  8. Communicates effectively, clearly, and positively with individuals served, families, staff, supervisors, and community members.

  9. Adheres to TLA and DDS Policies and Procedures.

  10. Takes responsibility for any issues noted and demonstrates the ability to actively problem solve by seeking, developing, and implementing viable solutions.

  11. Ensures confidentiality as required by law and TLA’s Policies & Procedures.

  12. Attends, completes, and demonstrates competency in all applicable TLA training.

  13. Takes responsibility for the oversight of safety hazards in all areas including, but not limited to, programs and vehicles.

  14. Ensures that the individual's plan is carried out as outlined in the written plan, programs, schedules, and other documentation.

  15. Provides advocacy for individuals served based on their personal choices.

  16. Supervise all staff and assistant managers.

Other Related Responsibilities:

  1. Attend all applicable agency meetings.

  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  3. Demonstrate appropriate time management skills.

  4. Maintain professional demeanor and act as a role model for employees.

  5. Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations and day-to-day management and supervisory issues.

  6. Keep informed and implement current trends and methods of working with individuals with disabilities.

  7. Get along with others- work as a team player.

  8. To be able to work in a hostile environment.

  9. To be able to lead the program to perform task to the best of their abilities.

 

Minimum Education Required: A Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Services or related field and/or 5 plus years in Human Services working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities.

 

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  1. Must have valid State of Connecticut Driver’s License and be insurable with the agency carrier.

  2. Must be able to meet physical demands of the job. These include but are not limited to ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds for assisting participants in personal care needs and/or the purpose of performing daily job duties, ability to twist, bend and reach immediately to address medical and behavioral incidents, ability to enter and exit agency vehicle at numerous stops for a minimum of one hour and the ability to drive agency vehicle for a minimum of 30 minutes without stops.

  3. 24/7 on call rotation.

 

Additional Requirements

  1. Must complete the Agency’s Employee Training.

  2. Certification and Training, including but not limited to: CPR, First Aid, PMT and Med Cert.
