Job DescriptionJob Description

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Accounts Payable functions including posting vendor invoices to correct G/L expense codes and assisting with weekly check runs as necessary.
  • Work closely with Purchasing Department to ensure vendor invoices are accurate per Purchase Orders/Receivers and paid according to payment terms.
  • Initiate ACH payments and both international and domestic wire payments, and check payments when necessary.
  • Responsible for daily bank reconciliations for several bank accounts.
  • Generate and pay sales rep commissions on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close.
  • Responsible for G/L account analysis for several balance sheet accounts.
  • Electronic filing of monthly sales tax reports.
  • Create regular and ad-hoc reporting as needed using Excel spreadsheets.
  • Assists with payroll processing as needed.
  • Partners with Accounting Manager in handling accounting for new entities (acquisitions or partnerships).
  • Works with Accounting Manager to improve financial processes, applying current and new accounting principles to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Performs additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related discipline is required, along with an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting, handling a variety of tasks and responsibilities
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or similar industry/environment ideal but not required.
