Job DescriptionJob Description

A medical practice is seeking a motivated person to work as a full time Referral Scheduling Coordinator.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous medical experience

  • Previous insurance verification experience preferred

  • Must be able to learn and work within an electronic medical record

  • Work well as a team and independently

  • A friendly disposition and willingness to follow through and assist other is a must

  • Experience working with a multi-line phone system

  • Strong Administrative skills

  • Previous experience conducting most business via phone and email

 

Essential Duties and responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals

  • Act as a liaison between referring provider and our office

  • Screen and scheduled incoming referrals and New Patient calls

  • Assemble information concerning patients clinical background and insurance information to create patient records

  • Ensure complete and accurate registration including patient demographics and current insurance information

  • Conduct insurance verifications including but not limited to verifying benefits and pre authorization requirements for specialist visits

  • Contacting patients presenting to visit in a timely manner.

  • Review details and expectations about the referral ot providers as needed

  • Manage and sort through paperwork sent via EHR fax line

  • Track and enter all referral request

  • Answer, respond and document phone calls from patients in a timely manner

  • Fax and scan information as needed

  • Other duties as delegated by physicians and management
