PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Production & Continuous Improvement Supervisor will oversee the manufacturing and assembly operations, leading a team of 20+ employees, including Shift Leads. This role is crucial for planning, assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and continuously improving production methods and working conditions. You will be responsible for maintaining optimal workflow, ensuring product quality, and driving both operational efficiency and staff development.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production Oversight: Coordinate all phases of production to ensure high-quality products meet order requirements and stock levels. Monitor workflow, set processing variables, and address equipment malfunctions and process control issues.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Directly supervise production personnel, optimizing productivity, setting priorities, and designing efficient workflows. Mentor and train team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S improvement efforts. Analyze processes, develop enhancement strategies, and implement best practices to optimize production and operational efficiency.
  • Operational Coordination: Facilitate daily production meetings, prepare operational schedules, and manage manufacturing activities. Ensure components are available and resolve scheduling issues and production problems as they arise.
  • Quality and Safety: Maintain high standards of quality and safety by educating staff on procedures, enforcing organizational standards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks including report preparation, performance evaluations, employee scheduling and documentation for HR-related matters. Analyze work output and report on production summaries.
  • Process Analysis: Investigate and address shortfalls, issues, and complaints within current business processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance productivity and staff satisfaction.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educational Background: Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Extensive relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in a high-performance manufacturing or processing environment. Experience in process optimization and continuous improvement is highly valued.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, lean manufacturing, and 5S principles.
    • Proven track record of strategic thinking, effective communication, and conflict management.
    • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate teams while driving operational excellence.
    • Proficiency in analyzing and improving company processes and procedures.
    • Knowledge of SAP and ADP is a plus
  • Additional Requirements: Excellent English communication skills. A commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate manufacturing work areas. Minimal travel may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day with occasional climbing of stairs and ladders to access manufacturing work areas. Reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist. Lifting of 50 pounds or more. Proper lifting techniques required. Minimal travel may be required (U.S. and International).
