Job DescriptionJob Description

  • Follow direction of project manager and project engineers.

  • Install / configure workstations, laptops, network equipment, servers, storage, and other peripherals.

  • Analyze customer needs and engineer solutions to meet those needs within Cooperative Systems technology standards.

  • On-site most days in locations throughout MA, with occasional on-site visits to clients in CT, Southern NH and RI

  • In CT office once a week for team meeting, equipment preparation and other meetings

  • Project Tech work includes: Desktop Imaging, desktop deployment, server and network equipment installation, etc.

  • Coordinate and implement simple projects.

  • Provide input on hardware and software requirements to meet customer needs.

  • Determine project labor estimates.

  • Ensure projects are delivered successfully, on-time, and within budget.

  • Assist with onboarding projects for new customers or new service delivery to existing customers.

  • Ensure successful knowledge transfer of projects and environments to technical team to ensure efficient ongoing support

Other Tasks:

  • Occasionally serve as an escalation point for solving technical problems and issues.

  • Perform administrative duties including but not limited to logging hours, maintaining customer documentation, and using company-approved data entry system.

  • Communicate with customers as required: keeping them informed of project progress, impending changes or agreed outages.

  • Draft and maintain documentation of technical processes for internal and external use.

  • Exercises independent judgment in the interest of the company as a substantial part of the work day.

  • Obtain company assigned training and certifications to further goals of self and the company.

  • Provide ideas/insights as to new products or services that the company can offer its clients.

  • Perform after hours customer support and project delivery as required.

  • Meet (at a minimum) company Service Level Agreements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and experience

  • Basic knowledge of network and server environments including (but not limited to) Server Operating Systems, Virtualization Technology, E-Mail platforms, Cloud Services, Networking and Security.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Office 365 (Teams, Exchange Online, AzureAD, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, etc.). Previous migration experience preferred.

  • Expert knowledge of workstation deployment and imaging techniques.

  • Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, CompTia A+, Net+, Security+.

  • Basic understanding of network topologies and concepts.

  • Associates Degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in information technology (prior managed services / IT consulting experience a plus).
