Overview: The Environmental Services Technician plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment within the hospital. This position requires attention to detail and adherence to strict hygiene and safety standards. The technician will work across various hospital locations and will be essential in ensuring the facility meets cleanliness and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks in assigned areas, including patient rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, and other hospital locations.
- Use hospital-approved cleaning agents and equipment to clean floors, walls, windows, and furniture.
- Ensure the safe handling and disposal of waste and biohazard materials according to hospital protocols.
- Restock supplies in restrooms and other necessary areas.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor or maintenance team.
- Respond promptly to special cleaning requests or emergencies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning tasks and supplies used.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and hospital staff to ensure a seamless cleaning process.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the job.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a cleaning or environmental services role, preferably in a healthcare setting, is advantageous.
- Must pass background check and blood test as required by hospital policies.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work in various locations throughout the hospital and adjust to changing priorities.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
