Position Summary:

1pm – 9pm (2nd shift)

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for fiberglass production group; including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity and performance management.  Responsible for making recommendations and supporting continuous improvement, 6S and Lean manufacturing concepts, while actively encouraging associate involvement.  Position Responsibilities: Train, instruct, and supervise employees using established production methods to produce a quality product in a safe and timely manner to meet production demands. Provide work assignments, procure parts, and communicate production demands to employees, as well as perform quality and safety audits and generate maintenance requests. Maintain safe working environment. Meet and or exceed company metrics including safety, quality, cost, and delivery. Document and complete production reports, scrap tickets, accident reports, and discipline notices while promoting and enforcing company policies, safety rules and work instructions. Compares actual performance with planned performance and takes corrective action if needed to ensure that objectives are achieved. Utilize accurate measurement tools to track area key indices, to identify unfavorable trends, and to take corrective action. Meet key performance indicators such as Quality, Safety, Productivity, Scrap Rates, Labor Efficiencies, On-time Delivery, Machine Down Time and Inventory Levels to ensure operations are running in an efficient matter. Proactively use Lean tools to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety results. Complete required systems work: Mapics, Workforce Dimensions, Zone etc. Perform other duties as required. 

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills and leadership skills. 50+ employees

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word). Ability to troubleshoot and self-educate new or unfamiliar software.

Strong working knowledge of manufacturing operations.

Proven leadership skills, ability to train and develop employees.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to converse with employees and upper management.

Problem solving in a fast past manufacturing environment.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Attention to detail.

Ability to promote an environmentally healthy and safe work environment.

Ability to effectively communicate with outside and inside customers, under pressure, to deliver high-quality, expedited product as needed.  

Experience:

8 years of experience in a high volume, fast-paced manufacturing plant, preferably in similar industry.

Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role. Experience supervising off-shift, diverse workforce preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in a customer-facing role.  

Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

This individual would be responsible for several direct reports, and would work the hours of 12:45PM – 9:15AM, with the occasional early arrival and/or extended shift required. Our production schedule is such that we are working 6-7 days/week, and this Supervisor would need to be available by phone on the weekends, with the occasional on-site presence required. This individual would interface with our other two shift supervisors on a daily basis.
