North Broward Preparatory School (NBPS) is a private day & boarding school located in Coconut Creek, FL with approximately 280 boarding students who reside on campus from 36 different nations around the world. 

Position Overview:

The Overnight Resident Assistant (RA) is a critical member of our residence life team, dedicated to ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of residential students during overnight hours. This position requires a responsible, compassionate, and proactive individual who can handle emergencies, provide support to students, and maintain a quiet and positive living environment during the overnight hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular rounds of the residential village to ensure the safety and security of all students.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents, following established protocols.
  • Enforce residence hall policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
  • Hold the overnight duty phone and answer and respond to calls or text from students. 

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of nightly rounds, incidents, and interactions.
  • Assist with morning wake-ups during the week as needed.
  • Communicate any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

Experience: Prior experience in a residential life setting, or a similar role is preferred, but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in basic administrative tasks and record-keeping.

  • Reliable, responsible, and punctual.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong sense of integrity and professionalism.
