Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Welding Fabricator for 2nd Shift to support our production team. You will be responsible for reviewing work and distributing it among employees. Ensure work meets quality and time requirements staying within planned delivery schedule, while also adhering to the company’s safety policies and procedures.
We are conveniently located in Oakland, FL, 24 minutes from Orlando area.
Position Responsibilities:
- Weld Steel and Flux core.
- Read and understand multi-view drawings, layouts, and welding symbols.
- Consistently produce usable products that meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawings.
- Calculate dimensions of metal parts to be welded.
- Use suitable tools to properly contour weld parts and components to match complex and close tolerance configuration requirements.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure metal parts.
- Perform component setup as well as basic digital programming on welding equipment controls.
- Filling holes or hammering out bulges and bends.
- Cleaning welded metal off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
- Inspecting workpieces for defects and checking for specifications.
- Read and understand multi-view drawings, layouts, and welding symbols.

- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
- Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
- Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Maintain equipment and machinery.
- Ensure compliance with and communication of company policies and procedures. Demonstrate CMD’s core values and lead by example.
- Completes work priorities as assigned by managers.
- Perform other such duties as may be required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Welding Certification – MIG/TIG or equivalent.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Possess a high degree of safety awareness when performing all tasks.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Understand basic hardware i.e. Bolt Grades (Grade 5, 8, Etc.).
- Ability to read drawings and schematics.
- Well organized, analytical, and detail oriented.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced work environment.
- Work well with others and work as a team.
- Display and maintain enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.
- Must cooperate with other associates to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
