Position Summary

Reporting to the company Partner responsible for Sales & Marketing efforts, the Business Development Associate will support sales & marketing efforts by assisting in the identification of new opportunities, building relationships, supporting sales efforts, and contributing to strategic growth initiatives. Success in this role requires the willingness to learn the business of Payroll, attention to detail and the ability to identify prospective clients pain points and solve problems.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assist the company Partner in working prospects through the sales process - prospecting, preparation, approach, presentation, handling objections, closing and follow-up
  • Become a subject matter expert in the products and services offered by Priority One Payroll and competing payroll vendors
  • Responsible for meeting individual sales goals and objectives in collaboration with overall company sales goals
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge
  • Attend networking/outreach events to drive new referrals/sales opportunities
  • Assist in the planning and execution of cold outreach through email and cold calls to attract new leads
  • Identify and document prospects pain points and use them to nurture a prospect through the sales funnel
  • First line pre-sales support for new sales opportunities
  • Production of quotes and proposals
  • Updating the Company CRM or link system with all activities
  • Assist with the production of marketing materials and literature, such as web content, brochures, blog posts and press releases

 

What You Must Bring to This Role

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED); or equivalent education and experience - required
  • Associates degree from a 2-year college and/or 4 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience - desired
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) desired
  • Business to Business work experience - desired
  • History of success operating in Payroll or a similar Human Resource or Accounting roles - desired
  • History in customer facing roles - required
  • Demonstrated success rapidly building and maintaining relationships within an organization - required
  • A history of excellence in communication (verbal and written), active listening, overcoming objections, risk mitigation, and problem-solving - required
  • A history of exceptional attention to detail - required
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/priorities at the same time while prioritizing deliverables day-to-day - required
