Compensation:          Hourly

 

Summary

 

The primary purpose of this position is to work with the laser operator and receiving team to gather materials for the tube laser. This position is called upon to handle all material and loading/unloading of the tube laser, keep storage areas clean and organized, keep the tube laser supplied with material as needed.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Safe operation of overhead cranes
  2. Keep the laser always supplied with materials.
  3. Unload and organize cut product from the laser.
  4. Responsible for quality and quantity of sub-assemblies
  5. Continuous improvement in support of department and company goals
  6. Supports, participates, and encourages team building.
  7. Provides feedback, both positive and negative, to the team, other related departments, and the supervisor
  8. Promotes a positive work environment.
  9. Follow all of Porter Corp’s procedures and policies.
  10. Work safely and efficiently
  11. Stay customer focused.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  1. This position requires a knowledge of basic material handling methods to ensure a quality product is delivered to all customers.
  2. Work requires a high school diploma or equivalent.


Travel

This position requires minimal to no travel.

Computer Skills

  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems

 

Other Requirements

  1. Able to read blueprints.
  2. Previous overhead crane experience.
  3. Previous fork truck experience.
  4. Very good interpersonal skills.
  5. Must be open-minded to new ideas and concepts.
  6. Possesses very good problem-solving skills.
  7. Must be self-motivated and results oriented.

Other Skills

  1. Safe and efficient material handling to minimize damage
  2. Accuracy and completeness of deliverable materials to customer
