Staff Accountant

We have partnered with a nonprofit organization dedicated to healing lives. The team is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who will report to the Accounting & Finance Manager. The office is based in the City of Azusa. 

Responsibilities:

  • Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Assists with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance & Accounting Department.
  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
  • Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Assists with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance & Accounting Department
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Reviews expense coding to ensure consistent allocation and compliance with CMS guidelines.
  • Performs general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, etc.
  • Performs monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, and recording of adjusting, reclassification and investment journal entries.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business or BBA with an emphasis in Accounting highly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related position preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Have excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
