Job DescriptionJob Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our quality management team. The ideal candidate will focus on managing supplier quality, including the control of Material Review Board (MRB) processes, handling non-conforming products, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Previous experience in the medical device industry is preferred, but we are open to candidates with a background in other highly regulated fields.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Quality Management: Ensure that suppliers meet quality standards and specifications. Oversee the control of MRB processes and manage non-conforming products.
  • Non-Conformance Process: Lead and participate in the investigation and resolution of non-conformance issues, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions.
  • Supplier Audits & Scorecards: Assist in the development and execution of supplier scorecards and conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Cost Reduction Support: Work closely with the supply chain and engineering teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement and promote continuous improvement methodologies to enhance supplier quality and overall manufacturing processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including procurement, engineering, and production, to ensure supplier quality objectives are met.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably within the medical device industry. Experience in other highly regulated industries will be considered.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of supplier quality processes, including MRB and non-conformance management.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with supplier audits and performance evaluations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in the medical device industry.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to the medical device sector.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification is a plus.
