Job Description – ATM Ted’s Body Shop Inc.

Position Overview: The Estimator at our respected auto body shop is a vital role responsible for accurately assessing vehicle damage, preparing comprehensive repair estimates, and facilitating effective communication between customers, technicians, and insurance providers. This position requires keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and exceptional customer service abilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Damage Assessment: Conduct thorough visual inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of damage and required repairs.

  • Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates using estimating software and manual calculations.

  • Customer Interaction: Interact with customers to explain repair procedures, provide cost estimates, and address concerns.

  • Insurance Coordination: Collaborate with insurance adjusters to ensure accurate and timely claims processing.

  • Parts Coordination: Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of required parts for repairs.

  • Technical Support: Provide technical guidance to technicians and other team members regarding repair methods and procedures.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, repair details, and communication with customers and insurers.

  • Quality Control: Review completed repairs to ensure they align with estimates and meet quality standards.

  • Customer Satisfaction: Address customer inquiries, provide updates on repair progress, and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and repair methods to enhance estimating accuracy.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; formal training or certification in automotive estimating is preferred.

  • Proven experience as an estimator, with at least one year of relevant experience.

  • Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.

           Solid understanding of automotive repair processes, parts, and labor requirements.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent precision and accuracy in estimating vehicle damage.

  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and insurance providers.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Registered with I-Car and Have Current I-Car training.

 

Physical Requirements: This role involves physical tasks related to vehicle inspections and interacting with customers and team members.

 

As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate estimates that contribute to the shop's reputation for quality automotive services and customer satisfaction.
