Position Title:              Powder Manufacturing Operator                      EFFECTIVE DATE:  August 2024                                                                                             

Department:                 Plant 2 Powder Operations

                                  

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Responsible for the manufacture, processing, blending and inventory control of all filler metals used for the manufacture of solder and braze pastes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·         Melt/Atomizing

o    Accurately weigh up alloy melt charges per charge calculation sheet.

o    Load charges to melt platform.

o    Set up atomizing furnaces and tank per work order instructions.

o    Melt and atomize alloys per process requirements and work order instructions.

o    Maintain accurate records of the atomizing process parameters for each run.

o    Unload atomized powders and screen per work order instructions.

o    Accurately complete powder and re-melt receipts against work orders.

·         Powder Inventory Control

o    Weigh, screen and blend powder charges for paste manufacturing according to work order instructions and blend sheets.

o    Stage powder charges in appropriate containers and label with material, blend and work order information.

o    Maintain all powders as to ensure accurate inventories and proper storage and preservation.

o    Complete work order and inventory transactions to maintain accurate system inventories.

o    Receive alloys/raw materials

·         General

o    Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure all materials are readily accessible, stored properly and that the potential for cross contamination or misidentification is minimized.

o    Maintain all equipment in proper working order and assist with maintenance as needed.

o    Perform housekeeping and 5S duties in the powder room and general area.

o    Adhere to all HSE policies and procedures with an emphasis on safety.

o    Wear and maintain PPE provided.

o    Support management initiatives to improve and maintain material quality, manufacturing practices and overall plant efficiency.

o    Commit to following the Fusion quality policy and a related procedures and initiatives.

o    Other activities as assigned by plant supervision.

 

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

·         High school diploma or GED

·         Manufacturing experience preferably with 1-2 years’ experience in a foundry type environment.

·         Experience operating a fork lift and overhead crane.

·         Mechanical aptitude.

·         Basic computer skills, strong math skills, legible handwriting and good verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to wear air purifying respirators and all other PPE.

·         Team player
