Summary:
The main function of a Business Systems Analyst is to perform the analysis, design, implementation, modification, and daily functional support of all applications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Builds understanding of the business across multiple areas, links internal business topics to relevant external trends, and anticipates business problems.
- Proactively anticipates business questions and identifies appropriate insights or plausible analytical solutions to suggest in response. May coach others to help them broaden business knowledge.
- Develops appropriate presentations that tell stories of analyses, including dashboards, reports, data visualizations, self-service platforms, slides, and talking points that highlight relevant insights.
- Synthesizes details across analyses and reporting platforms into a cohesive story that serves to inform business decisions and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency of reporting and presentations.
- Determines factors and/or data types to include in the evaluation of the impact of business, product, and/or operational decisions that provide relevant assessments of impact.
- Ensures that evaluations can account for anticipated risks and applies learnings from previous evaluations.
Candidate Requirements
The soft skills required for the candidate include the ability to work independently and provide recommended solutions, as well as being creative with solution and problem-solving. They should also be able to direct the team if the initial requests are off base to ensure the final solution is optimal. This implies strong communication skills, critical thinking, and the ability to guide projects towards successful outcomes. Ability to direct the team if they're off base with what is being requested. Prior Microsoft company experience is nice to have, it's not a hard requirement for this role
Qualifications:
8-10 overall years of experience in the field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field and 4+ years' experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis
- OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field and 2+ years' experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience.
Additional/Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field and 6+ years' experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis.
- OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 4+ years' experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience.
