Job DescriptionJob Description

Kreider Farms, a large family-owned egg and milk producer/manufacturer in Lancaster County, PA, is currently looking for a Director of Accounting Processes.  The primary responsibility of this position is to accurately maintain the accounting records of the company by managing accounts receivable and accounts payable; recording related journal entries; and generating and analyzing financial and operational reports.

 

Essential Job Duties

·        Oversee the activities of the AP and AR staff to ensure accurate, timely and complete processing of invoices and payments.

·        Establish and monitor policies and procedures around AR Credit and Collections to ensure appropriate controls are in place to mitigate financial risk and expedite payment.

·        Document, implement, and maintain internal control procedures/policies and operational improvements within the AP and AR processes.

·        Develop and establish key performance indicators for the performance of the AR and AP teams in key areas (processing goals, spend management, etc.).

·        Collaborate with all areas of the Accounting team to implement and execute appropriate month-end Close procedures to ensure proper recording of financial transactions on a monthly basis with a focus on journal entries related to the AP and AR processes.

·        Create/Maintain Balance Sheets reconciliations on key accounts on a periodic basis.

·        Prepare, analyze, and distribute reports and analyses to support the financial records of the organization and/or to assist departments outside of Accounting in meeting business needs.

·        Assist with both internal and external audits to ensure complete, timely and accurate responses to information requests.

·        Evaluate/implement existing modules/functionality in the new ERP System in related areas (i.e., AR, AP, Credit/Collections, Employee Expense, etc.).

 

Required Skills/Abilities

·        Requires knowledge of GAAP standards

·        Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills

·        Advanced Excel skills

·        Thorough understanding of ERP and accounting software

·        Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally and support functional areas of business

 

Education and Experience

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

·        Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting processes in business environment  

·        Requires prior supervisory or management experience
