We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. If you have a passion for estimating, bidding, and proposal writing, particularly for Government projects, we want to hear from you This is a temporary part-time position with the potential to transition to full-time, offering both remote and on-site work opportunities. This role is a fantastic chance to contribute to exciting projects and advance your career.

Key Responsibilities:
• Estimate Preparation: Develop detailed scope specifications and requirements, project schedules, and quantity take-offs. Prepare comprehensive cost summary sheets and input data into our estimating database. Travel and attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings as needed.
• Cost Database Management: Maintain and update an accurate database of cost codes and historical data to ensure precise and competitive estimates.
• Subcontractor Management: Create and review subcontractor scopes of work. Accept, review, and analyze subcontractor quotes to determine the best value. Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Quality Assurance: Thoroughly review all take-offs and pricing to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Proposal Development: Craft well-written and compelling proposals. Present cost estimates to senior management, considering both general and special conditions.
• Negotiation & Procurement: Assist the Project Director in negotiating subcontracts and procuring major project components.
• Budgeting & Transition: Contribute to estimating job cost budgets and participate in turnover or transition meetings.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in construction estimating, bidding, and proposal writing, with a preference for Government project experience.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Proficiency in relevant estimating software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
