WHAT WE NEED: The Quality Systems Engineer will be responsible for Quality Systems at our West Chester, Ohio manufacturing facility. Compliance to GMP and packaging standards are critical to our business for our unique package which is designed for personal care products, household products, pet products, and food products. Daily executional responsibilities ensure the safety, quality, and legality of the product meets regulatory and customer expectations. This position reports to the VP of Quality.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: Job duties include the following; other duties maybe assigned:

  • Conduct and supports internal audits applicable to the facilities Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). AeroFlexx is certified to the BRCGS Packaging Standard.
  • Conduct audits supporting the pre-requisite programs which includes completion and verification of audit checklists, standard operating procedures (SOP), facility verifications, and internal team meetings including support of corrective action.
  • Provides expertise and support in working cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing on opportunities and new processes.
  • Trend analysis within Quality Systems to establish standard reporting and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use of statistical tools to communicate performance, track performance, and provide recommendations on testing frequency.
  • Lead the implementation of ISO9001, ISO22716, and ISO14001 standards at the West Chester Facility and maintain after certification is achieved
  • Ownership of calibration management system and compliance to calibration requirements
  • Lead implementation of any region-specific certifications (e.g. Halal Certification)
  • Provides customer required documentation and support site visits from customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in packaging or food safety and quality assurance preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with recognized GFSI standards (BRCGS Packaging Standard Preferred), Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation, Pest Control, and CFRs relevant to our industry
  • Ability to interpret data, process capability and relate it to specification and process
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with effective time management
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to assemble resources needed to orchestrate multiple projects / activities and accomplish goals
  • HACCP Certification Preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher Preferred
  • Intermediate to High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and statistical software such as Minitab.
