NICU Director Level III RN

Location: Austin, TX

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: Up to $173,000
  • Bonus: Eligible
  • Relocation: Eligible

Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • No Weekends
  • Standard leadership shift, M-F

Job Summary: The NICU Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the NICU unit. This role involves managing staff, forecasting, planning, budgeting, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. The Director will implement evidence-based practices, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and drive improvements in patient safety and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee overall function and staffing of the NICU unit.
  • Implement and manage evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to care standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient patient care.
  • Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
  • Manage patient throughput and care coordination policies.
  • Provide leadership in achieving superior patient experience.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree required (Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred)
    • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Licensure: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) of practice or has an active compact license.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred
    • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) preferred
    • RNC-OB (Registered Nurse Certified-Obstetric) preferred
  • Experience:
    • 1+ year of healthcare experience required
    • 1+ year of leadership experience required

Additional Information:

  • Unit Details: 99 beds under oversight, Level III NICU
  • Staffing: 150 FTEs with 2 Managers
  • Patient Ratio: 2 or 3 nurses to 1 patient
  • Daily Census: 75 patients
  • Staff Shifts: 12-hour shifts
  • Call Requirement: Rotates call with 2 managers
