STANDARD CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. is an Arizona civil general contractor that has been in business for over 22 years. We are looking for a CIVIL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT.

We specialize in street improvements, underground utilities, drainage improvements, industrial, and commercial projects.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Civil Construction Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all field personnel and subcontractors, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities.

  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
  • Expertly manages all phases of civil construction on individual projects from $100K- $10,000,000.
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Communicates in English clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Calculates and manage crew production rates.
  • Reviews and approves material and equipment needs.
  • Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.
  • Understands the project plans and specifications.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
  • Prepares, schedules and supervises completion of a final punch list.
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Ensures all company employees and subcontractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
  • Builds a productive team by positive attitude and leading by example.
  • Maintains an organized job site.
  • Develops, tracks and controls the project schedule.
  • Tracks all project costs to complete the project on-time and within budget.
  • Makes mathematical calculations to figure quantity of materials required for job.
  • Plans a safe project site and implements work activities in a safe way, every day.
  • Writes sufficiently to complete time-sheets, work orders, daily log of work and other reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience supervising public works and/or heavy civil construction.
  • Work supervised could include the following: laying 12" -72" pipe for water, sewer, storm drains, grading, sidewalks, driveways, curbs, gutters, form setting and layout.
  • Experience installing services, fire hydrants, pipe connections etc. per Standard drawings
  • Experience with setting up trench shoring in accordance with OSHA Safe Practices
  • Able to read and understand project plans and specifications.
  • Knowledgeable of MAG Specifications
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
