Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Executive to oversee the operations of our electrical contracting division, which handles projects totaling approximately $40M annually, with individual projects typically exceeding $2M. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, particularly within the electrical contracting industry, and will be responsible for leading a team of Project Managers (PMs), managing workflows, establishing SOPs, and ensuring the continuous development and training of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the construction division, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Project Oversight: Oversee the management of multiple projects, ensuring they align with company goals and client expectations. Monitor project progress, addressing any issues that may arise.
- Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of Project Managers, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to succeed. Implement and manage workflows, SOPs, and training programs to enhance team performance.
- Financial Management: Oversee the division’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Ensure projects are financially viable and contribute to the overall profitability of the division.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded. Act as the primary point of contact for high-level discussions and negotiations.
- Quality & Safety: Develop and enforce quality and safety standards across all projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Innovation & Improvement: Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the division, implementing new technologies and methods to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management or operations within the electrical contracting industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, project management software (such as Revit, AutoCAD), and construction methodologies.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage large teams, with a focus on mentoring, training, and developing talent.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is preferred.
