The position primarily involves ensuring the quality control of all semi-truck and trailer equipment owned and leased by the company, along with other company-owned vehicles.
The duties include daily inspection of tires, repairing and replacing them as required, and ensuring that trailer tarps are in good working order. In case of any issues, the tarping parts/systems must be repaired and replaced as needed.
The candidate must be able to perform scheduled services and assist mechanics when necessary.
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for inventory management and must have excellent communication skills to interact with others.
The position will report to the Shop Foreman.
The candidate must have a mechanical knowledge of class 8 trucks and trailers, a valid driver’s license (CDL Class A is a plus), and their own tools.
They must be proficient in performing troubleshooting and repairs, light welding and torching, and must be able to perform services on equipment (oil/lube/etc) as needed, and change tires as required.
The candidate must be able to prioritize their workload based on the dispatch schedule.
The ideal candidate must possess dependable transportation, be punctual, stand on their feet for long periods, and be able to bend, twist, push, pull, and lift 50+ pounds.
The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with drivers and co-workers.

Qualifications
Prospective applicants for this position should have knowledge of heavy-duty tires, oil, lube, filters, brakes, and tarp assemblies, and must also possess the physical capability to perform such work.
The role involves assisting in the maintenance and quality control of semi-truck and trailer equipment owned and leased by the company, as well as other company-owned vehicles.
Daily tire inspections will be required, with any necessary repairs or replacements being carried out as needed. Trailer tarps must also be inspected to ensure that all systems are in good working order, and any damaged or faulty parts must be repaired or replaced.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inventory and communicating effectively with colleagues, and will report to the Shop Foreman. Applicants should have mechanical knowledge of Class 8 trucks and trailers, as well as their own tools.
A valid driver’s license is required, with a CDL Class A certification being a plus.
Troubleshooting and repair skills are essential, as well as experience in light welding and torching.
The candidate must be able to perform services on equipment such as oil changes, lubrication, etc., and be capable of changing tires as needed.
They should also be able to prioritize their workload based on the dispatch schedule, and possess dependable transportation, punctuality, the ability to stand on their feet for prolonged periods, and the capability to bend, twist, push, pull, and lift items weighing over 50 pounds.
Effective communication with drivers and co-workers is also a must.
