Summary 

Under limited supervision of the Materials Manager/Shipping/Receiving or designee, performs physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing materials, parts, products, supplies and equipment to meet established deadlines and performance goals in a time-sensitive environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Perform necessary pre-operation inspection of Powered Industrial Vehicles in accordance with company policy and other regulatory guidelines.

·         Perform safe operation of Powered Industrial Vehicles and other material handling equipment including proper use of personal protective equipment.

·         Follow work instructions and safety procedures for material handling activities.

·         Receive, sort, and segregate incoming materials.  Route materials to prescribed storage locations or other appropriate destinations.

·         Unload and load materials on to or off pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.  Sort and place materials or items in racks, shelves, or bins

·         Load and unload materials to/from tractor trailers/trucks

·         Complete paperwork, scanning, and maintain records as directed.

·         Perform miscellaneous packing of parts/materials for shipment including use of strapping machine and scales.

·         Anticipate placement of material for production at strategic locations

·         Understand and utilize FIFO system for production and shipping and receiving purposes.

·         Work within ISO 14001 and TS16949 guidelines

·         Adhere to safety guidelines.

·         Other duties as assigned.

·         Ability use to SAP scan gun to move all materials throughout the plant.

Education / Experience:

  • Must have at least one-year prior experience with sit-down and stand-up lifts
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have ability to obtain/maintain valid Autoneum certification to operate a powered industrial vehicle.
  • Prefer prior SAP experience.

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to write pertinent documentation as required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with intercompany and external vendors/customers.

Math Ability:

  • Basic math and measurement skills required.

Reasoning Ability:

·   Ability to interpret instructions/documents.

·   Ability to effectively prioritize workload.

Computer Skills:

  • Ability to retrieve information via floor support system.
  • Ability to perform scanning duties.
  • SAP software (Prefer)

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles.  The noise level in the environment is moderate to high.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to sit or stand up, to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with arms and hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb.  Bending and twisting at the waist and knees is required on an intermittent basis.  The employee is occasionally required to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.  The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
