Operations Manager
Long term temp to potential hire
Hours: 40 hpw

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Occasionally Saturdays if there is an event (will get another day off)

Responsibilities: 

  • Management of related staff as well as the relationships with community partners.
  • Responsible for the corporation’s day to day operating activities, including programming scheduling/deliverables management, budget oversight, timesheets/invoicing reviews: expenses, cost. 
  • Effectively works cross functionally in different departments (Finance, Programming, Community Engagement, Residential Services}
  • Build relationships at all levels of the organization, as well as community partners and vendors. 
  • Management and supervision of staff and consultants
  • Creation and oversight of operations
  • Develops, implements, and monitors operational policies and procedures within the community center and ensures compliance with guidelines established by funding sources, federal, state and city government and the board. 
  • Oversees building management and security and coordinates maintenance services.
  • The DOO will support the  Directors to maintain transparency when determining new policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining a culture of transparency and open communication among staff, board, volunteers, community partners and funders.
  • Identify internal opportunities and challenges and work to address them.
  • Manage key programs, events, and special initiatives related to the company's growth.
  • Assist the BOD in all human resources management.
  • Assist in managing board communications, development, engagement, and report outcomes.
  • Create the Operating Manual & Program Budget
  • Work with the Board of Directors Committee

Requirements:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required 
  • Expertise in managing the operations of a community center.
  • Experience in executing, managing, and evaluating community programming.
  • Expertise in community outreach and public relations.
  • Experience managing a diverse racial and cultural staff.
  • Expertise in working with low-income families and in racially and culturally diverse
  • communities.
  • Expertise in fund raising and managing relations with resource providers and external partners.
  • Experience with Lena Park's service area which consists of Dorchester and Mattapan neighborhoods of Boston.
  • Expertise in the administration of an agency of LPCDC's size.
  • Some knowledge of community-based affordable housing desirable but not required.
