Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Auto Restoration and Modification Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of automotive mechanics, coupled with a creative flair for restoring and customizing vehicles. From classic car restorations to modernization of classic vehicles, the role will involve a diverse range of projects that require precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Restoration: Execute complete restoration projects on classic and vintage automobiles, including disassembly, repair, fabrication, and reassembly.
  • Customization and Modification: Perform alterations and enhancements to improve performance, aesthetics, and functionality.
  • Diagnostic and Repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues in vehicles, and implement effective repair solutions to restore optimal functionality.
  • Fabrication and Welding: Fabricate custom parts and components using metalworking techniques such as welding, shaping, and machining.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and project timelines. Provide regular updates to clients on the progress of their projects.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of completed work to ensure that it meets industry standards and exceeds client expectations.
  • Research and Development: Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in auto restoration and modification. Explore innovative techniques and materials to enhance the quality and efficiency of our services.
  • Shop Maintenance: Keep the workshop clean, organized, and equipped with necessary tools and equipment. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to create a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5 years) working in auto restoration, customization, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in automotive mechanics, including engine, transmission, suspension, and electrical systems.
  • Strong welding and metal fabrication skills, with the ability to work with various metals and materials.
  • Expertise in automotive painting and refinishing techniques, including color matching and blending.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering superior craftsmanship.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with clients and colleagues effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
  • Certification or formal training in auto body repair, welding, or a related discipline is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
