We are seeking a Jr. Tax Accountant with strong bookkeeping skills that is a self-motivated and dynamic professional that provides excellent service to our clients.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

•      Data entry of client financials into QuickBooks monthly.

•      Reconciliation of bank statements and credit card statements monthly.

•       Communication with clients to retrieve necessary documents and for clarification on question transactions.

•       Carefully reviewing prepared financial statements for any errors, oddities, or variances.

•       Finalizing financial statements and sending reports to clients monthly.

•       Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner.

•       Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

•       Preparation of corporate, partnership, high net worth individual, trust and tax-exempt entity tax returns.

•       Preparation of financial statements, compilation, review, and audits (required for this position).

•       Preparation and review of payroll taxes.

•       Review and reconcile the client’s books and records to supporting documents.

•       Conduct research of federal, state and international issues.

 

Job Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of bookkeeping experience with full understanding of both QuickBooks and QuickBooks online.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation with at least 1 year in public accounting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Expensify and MS Office required.
  • Knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of federal and state tax returns.
  • Competency in Lacerte tax software or CCH Access a plus.
  • Deadline oriented with the ability to complete assigned tasks independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Regular and consistent attendance, OT may be required during peak periods.
  • Performance is measured based on the quality of work, application of knowledge, ability to meet time constraints, and results achieved.
