We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Collections Manager to oversee our insurance collections department and ensure efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing a department, preferably with experience in managing a sales team or insurance collections team. As the Insurance Collections Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing insurance collections and streamlining processes related to insurance billing and reimbursements. Proficiency with Brightree, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with various insurance portals are essential for success in this role.

50k-60k base salary with

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the department, including supervising a team of 10+ insurance collectors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize insurance collections and minimize claim denials.
  • Monitor and evaluate department performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize Brightree effectively to streamline insurance billing and reimbursement processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of insurance claims and follow-up on outstanding claims.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of insurance portals, including Availity, SPOT, UHC One, Cigna, and others, and effectively navigate these systems.
  • Oversee benefit verification and authorization procedures to ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile payments, resolve discrepancies, and address any insurance-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance providers and payers to facilitate efficient claims processing.
  • Stay updated on insurance industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance departmental performance.
  • Prepare reports and analyze data related to insurance collections, claim denials, and reimbursement rates.
  • Train and mentor team members, providing guidance and support to improve their skills and productivity.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the insurance department.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing an insurance department or related area.
  • Strong proficiency with Brightree and other insurance management software.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance portals such as Availity, SPOT, UHC One, Cigna, etc.
  • Familiarity with benefit verification and authorization procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Proven track record of increasing income statistics is a plus.
  • Understanding of sales team management is desirable.
