Job description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Kitchen Expo to join our team at the hottest new pizzeria and drafthouse in central Texas. The Kitchen Expo will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes are delivered to our guests in a timely, organized manner, maintaining the flow of service between the kitchen and the front of house, and ensuring the presentation and quality of each dish meets our standards. A great Kitchen Expo will be detail-oriented, able to prioritize well, and familiar with the standards of quality service for a premier customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Organize and prioritize food orders from the kitchen, ensuring they are prepared and delivered in the correct sequence
- Inspect dishes before they leave the kitchen, ensuring they meet the restaurant's quality and presentation standards
- Monitor the timing of dishes being prepared to ensure that all components of a meal are ready to be served together
- Communicate effectively with both the kitchen staff and front-of-house staff to ensure that food is served in a timely and organized manner
- Assist in managing the pace of service to avoid bottlenecks in the kitchen or delays in food delivery
- Keep the expediting station clean and organized throughout the shift
- Assist with setting up the expediting station before service begins and ensure it is properly cleaned and organized at the end of the shift
- Complete any required side work, such as restocking supplies, throughout or at the start/end of shift
- Address any issues or delays that arise during service, working quickly to resolve them to ensure guests receive their orders promptly
- Handle special requests or modifications to orders as they arise, ensuring these are communicated clearly to the kitchen
Skills
- 2-3+ years of experience in a hospitality/service industry, with previous experience as an expediter preferred
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Able to stay calm and organized under pressure
- Good physical condition and endurance
- Able to stand for up to 8-12 hours within a day
- Willing to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Pay: From $14 per hour
Expected hours: 20-25 per week
