Job DescriptionJob Description

1st Shift: 8am to 5pm

We're currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a leading automation machinery manufacturer in Hanover Park, IL. You'll play a vital role in the designing new custom automated machinery, managing projects, collaborating with other teams, and working hands-on the shop floor when needed.

Salary: 110k to 130k

  • Bonus Program paid out quarterly on average is 10% yearly.
  • Full Benefits: 100% 401k Match up to 6%.

​Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer, design engineer, product engineer or related roles with preference in machinery design.
  • 5+ years of experience with automation design, or capital equipment design.
  • Experience working on $1M+ projects.
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D solid modeling, using AutoCAD, Creo, Inventor or SolidWorks.
  • Experience with FEA, PFMEA, analysis, and design of steel structures or weldments.

Pluses or Nice to Haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related degrees.
  • Experience overseeing Junior Engineers, or mentoring/training.
  • Experience in client or customer-facing work.

Responsibilities:

  • 75% of the time on doing design work, 10%-15% is in team meetings, and the other 10%-15% on the shop floor
  • Manage concurrent projects and associated tasks in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure the timely success of every system.
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally to develop the best design for every system.
  • Design and detail automation systems consisting of machined and formed components, parts conveyance, part fixturing, vision systems, and articulating robot arms.
